Power Systems Engineering

From new builds to existing electrical systems, let our power systems engineers help you with your short-circuit calculations, protective device coordination, arc-flash studies and grounding studies.

Short-Circuit Analysis

Short circuit analysis is required such that existing and new equipment ratings are adequate to withstand the available short circuit current at each point in the electrical power system. Short circuit study is very crucial in power systems. The results of short circuit are used in calculating the arc flash incident energy values and completing a detailed protective device coordination study.

Protective Device Coordination Studies

Keeping your power on and equipment protection is our main priority. Our protective device coordination study will help ensure your system is properly engineered to open the protective device closest to the fault in order to limit down-time to the other parts of your facility.

Arc Flash Analysis

Modus Tech uses the latest IEEE 1584.1 to assess arc flash engineering study of your power system for simple PPE compliance or to provide mitigation strategies to reduce your arc flash hazard and risk on the site. Our priority is to make sure your employees are protected from potential arc flash incidents and that they understand how to safely work around the potential hazards of the power system.

Grounding Studies

Design of a ground grid is an essential part of the overall design of the power system (Substation). The reason for calculating ground grid potential rise, step and touch voltage is to create a safe environment for personnel to work safely in the vicinity of the substations based on IEEE Standard 80-2000.
